Before writing this post, I finally had time to reflect on my two-year journey in crypto—a journey marked by thrilling gains but ultimately more significant losses.
I started exploring crypto and trading in March 2022. Back then, I didn’t fully grasp the relationship between leverage and position size, which led to substantial early losses. Desperate to recover, I joined several trading groups, following various “Experts” Although I experienced moments of profitability, those highs were brief, and I ultimately suffered heavy losses.
Overconfidence and Greed: How I Lost a Million
After a series of setbacks, I committed to a more systematic approach, reading extensively on technical analysis, charting patterns, and trying to identify trends. However, despite my efforts, I found myself simply chasing chart patterns rather than developing my own trading logic. Maintaining a rational mindset and consistently executing a strategy were still challenging for me. In October 2023, during a bullish surge, I mistakenly believed I’d finally mastered the market. At one point, I was close to realizing a million in profits, but greed got the best of me. In the end, all of my gains vanished, replaced by steep losses.

Finding Calm in the Market: Getting to Know CoinKarma
While scrolling through Twitter one day, I came across a post from Benson—a no-nonsense update from one of the few Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) I genuinely trusted. Intrigued, I decided to give CoinKarma a try. Within a week, CoinKarma began issuing signals marking market highs and lows. Initially, I didn’t act on the signals but observed them out of curiosity.
Through this trial period, I began to realize that CoinKarma helped me understand the current market sentiment. This allowed me to remain calm and avoid letting my emotions magnify my fears or greed.
Reclaim Control Over Risk and Position Management
The CoinKarma indicators I rely on most are Liq and Accumulated Liq, which provide guidance on potential local highs and lows (for BTC, with an approximate margin of $3,000). For example, if a signal shows a high around $65,000, this could indicate a peak range—even if BTC later reaches $68,000. If I short at $65,000, I’m working with a minimum 1:1 risk-to-reward ratio, given that the downside could extend to around $6,000. This kind of insight has greatly helped me in both risk management and position planning.

Trading is ultimately a game of probabilities—placing heavier bets when confidence is high and lighter ones (or none) when it’s low. With this approach, profits gradually build over time. Rather than chasing quick wins, this method leads to steady growth over the long term. CoinKarma has become an essential tool that helps me confidently manage position sizes and assess risks. As long as I stay in the game, there’s always hope for gains.
Of course, no indicator or technical analysis tool guarantees success. The best “indicator” remains you, the trader. I’m grateful to have discovered CoinKarma this autumn, and I look forward to exploring and navigating the market together with others!
